Kylmä talvi innosti tarttumaan puikkoihin. Tai siis huomasin, että minulta puuttui juuri 5-numeron pyöröpuikko. Lanka oli jo hankittu Vihreästä Vyyhdistä Hakaniemen hallista, se on alpakan, mohairin ja akryylin sekoitusta. Sitä ostaessani luulin omistavani tarvittavan pyöröpuikon. Saattaahan olla, että omistankin, vaan en vain tiedä sen sijaintia. No, neulomiskuume oli korkealla, joten uutta puikkoa hankkimaan. Lahdessa on pienen pieni lankakauppa Möysässä, en ollut käynyt siellä ennen, mutta nyt ohikulkumatkalla piipahdin. Se on ihana vanhanajan kauppa, jossa on hyvä palvelu. Ja kuinka ollakaan, sieltä löytyi kultainen 5-numeron pyöröpuikko!
Tai ei se nyt kokonaan ole kultainen, vaan kullattu 24 karaatin kullalla. En ollut uskoa silmiäni, mutta tässä on todiste. Saksalaiset eivät valehtele. Samalla sain vielä puikkomittarinkin.
Kultaisilla puikoilla neuloin kuin siivillä tämän hartiahuivin , jonka ohje oli Moda-lehdessä nro 5/2010.
This cold winter encouraged me to grab my needles again. In other words, I found out that I’m missing a circular size 5 needle. I had the thread I needed from Vihreä Vyyhti, a store in Hakaniemi, Helsinki. The thread is a mix of alpaca, mohair and acryl. Buying it I thought I also bought the circular needle I needed, but didn’t. Though it might be that I already own one, but I just don’t know where it’s located. Anyhow, my knitting fever could not be extinguished by anything else but a new needle. In Möysä, Lahti there is a small thread-store that I had not visited before. It’s an adorable little old style shop with quality customer service. So it’s no surprise that I found the needle I needed from there. A golden one at that! Well, it’s not solid gold, just gilded with 24-carat gold. I could not believe my eyes, but here´s the proof. The Germans don’t lie. I also found myself a needle gauge.
Knitting with my golden needles made the creation of this shawl a breeze. I found the instructions for it in Moda-magazine (5/2010).
