Kirjonnan mestarikurssilla tekemäni tilkkutyösarjakuva.
I made this
quilted cartoon in the master class in embroidery I joined a few years ago.
LATE IN A SATURDAY EVENING…
(in the background
there´s a very common dancing place in Finland in late 60´s: an open dance hall
near a lake, you can hear a man singing an old Finnish tango)
…a silvery bridge over the sea…
…there couldn´t ever be…
…another evening like this…
EARLY SUNDAY MORNING ELSEWHERE
“When mom comes,
we´ll go to see my brother Veke”
(County of Kuopio,
town of Liperi)
“Last night they
drove to the electricity pylon. In the morning their dead bodies were taken
away.”
“You two, go back
to the house.”
“A lot of blood
was on the car seats. Were they from the neighborhood?”
“From the village
center. They were coming from the dance hall. Just recently got engaged.”
“Veke promised to
give us a branch from a snowball tree. We can plant it then to our garden.”
50 YEARS LATER
“Hi, is this the
same snowball tree our mother got from Veke long time ago?”
“I suppose so. I
don´t actually remember. I must have been so young then.”
“I remember”
